Diwali at the House of Lords
For the second time in three years Lord Popat hosted the City Hindus Network in the House of Lords for their annual Diwali Dinner.
Over 120 members of the CHN were treated to a tour of the Palace and a drinks reception before assembling for dinner in the Cholmondeley Room overlooking the river Thames. The theme of the evening was ‘empowerment’ and how the young professionals can meet the challenges of the modern workplace.
In his welcoming remarks, Lord Popat told the gathering that “I want you to leave tonight inspired about what you can do, and knowing that there are people who want you to succeed and make the next generation of British Indians even more remarkable than those that came before them.”
